Graduating May 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in music composition and a conducting minor, Annabella Gelmetti believes collaboration is among the greatest gifts music can offer. Annabella founded and currently directs the Gonzaga University Emerging Artist Series, a recital series dedicated to providing a platform for Gonzaga students of all backgrounds and majors to present original music of any genre in a professional environment.
With a background in songwriting, Gelmetti infuses storytelling into all of her work. She writes and produces many different styles and genres, including folk, alternative, jazz, and concert music, and performs around the Portland and Spokane metro areas. Annabella's upcoming projects include a Washington State tour of her first electro-acoustic ballet, "The Fearies," in collaboration with choreographer Sarah Glesk and the Gonzaga Blue Repertory Dance Company; a ten-person ballet-based company; she will be conducting the final performance joined by a live chamber orchestra; as well as the premiere of her work "Paper Cranes" by the Gonzaga faculty string quartet.
Gelmetti will be joining the Operation Opera festival as Executive Assistant in June 2022.
