Gia Battista

Gia Battista (she/her) is a founding artistic director of Davis Shakespeare Festival, a 501(c)(3) theatre company that serves both Yolo and Sacramento counties. While serving as a company leader for twelve years, Gia has directed numerous musicals including: A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, She Loves Me, and On the Twentieth Century. Gia has also been a stage director and acting coach for Opera Theatre at Sacramento State for five years. Stage directing credits include: Amelia Goes to the Ball, Game of Chance, and Little Harlequinade. Gia teaches musical theatre courses at Sacramento State and Sierra College. Education: B.A. in English and Dramatic Art (UC Davis), M.M. in Vocal Performance (Sacramento State).
