Sofia del Pilar Roca Castro

Sofia is a student of Bachelors of Music Education at California State University, Sacramento. Her applied instrument is voice and she works with professor Claudia Kitka. Sofia is an international student from Peru since 2020. Originally, she was accepted with saxophone as her applied instrument she reapplied to the School of Music to change her applied instrument to voice in 2021.
Sofia has performed with various ensembles in Peru such us Orchestando's Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, and Orchestra, and in choirs such as Tempo's School of Music Polyphonic Choir. While studying at Sacramento State she has been part of the Marching Band, Usingers choir, and at the moment is part of the Choral Union choir. Sofia has experience organizing and running events from her years volunteering at Orquestando, being part of the organizing team of the IB band festival in Lima, working for Peru Bandas as assistant and IT director, and while working as a Student Ambassador at Admissions and Outreach. In Operation Opera 2023 Sofia Roca is par of our team as Administrative Assistant.
