Sacramento-based cellist Timothy Stanley is a founding member of modern classical sextet Citywater, and Baroque chamber orchestra, Sinfonia Spirituosa. He performs regularly with orchestras, opera companies, chamber groups, and folk and jazz bands. He is a lecturer in String Pedagogy at Sacramento State University. There, he serves as Master Teacher with the Sacramento State String Project, a service-learning program designed to provide low-cost string instruction to Sacramento area children alongside teacher training and practice for college music majors. He is also current Co-Director for the Annual Festival of New American Music. He maintains a private studio of cellists and violinists and is the Strings Teacher for Camellia Waldorf K-8 School. His extracurricular activities include triathlon, open water swimming, ultramarathons, and backpacking in the High Sierras.
